About the Annual Meeting & Dinner

The Chamber's 99th Annual Meeting & Dinner, held on May 14, 2008, was attended by a record crowd of more than 1,500 business and community leaders. One of the evening's many highlights was the inauguration of Gloria Larson as the new chair of the Chamber - the first woman and first collegiate president to serve as chair in the Chamber's distinguished history.

An annual highlight of the program is the induction of one or more accomplished citizens into the Academy of Distinguished Bostonians. Four outstanding leaders were welcomed into the Academy in 2008:

• Micho Spring, chair, U.S. Corporate Practice & Weber Shandwick New England, Weber Shandwick Worldwide;

• Ted Cutler, philanthropist and vice president, The Interface Group - MA; 

• Larry Fish, chairman, Citizens Financial Group, Inc. and RBS Americas; and

• Peter Meade, former executive vice president, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Inc.
