Massport Connects: Economic Impact Report
2006
Conducted by the Massachusetts Port Authority,
this study outlines the economic impact of
Massport's transportation facilities and
development projects on the Greater Boston
region. Together, these facilities and projects
help to make New England a more attractive place
to live, work, and raise a family. Massport
employs more than 18,000 people, generates
another 100,000 private sector jobs throughout
the region, is responsible for economic activity
worth nearly $8.7 billion a year, and
contributes more than $670 million in tax
revenue to state, local and federal governments.
