President’s Update: Chamber to Honor Five Leaders at Centennial Celebration
Dear Chamber Member:
On May 19 the Chamber will host our Centennial Celebration - our 100th Annual Meeting and Dinner.
The power of our past has laid the groundwork for the promise of our future.
But like any organization, the Chamber is only as strong as its members. As we look forward to the future, we will continue to rely on the talented leaders who engage with us on policy issues, support our many programs, and who, in the words of our first president, J.J. Storrow, work to "accomplish some good for the welfare of our city and state."
On May 19, we will honor five individuals who have accomplished a great deal of good for Greater Boston. We will induct Peter Lynch and Linda Whitlock into the Academy of Distinguished Bostonians. We will present our Chair, Gloria Larson, with the Chamber's first Collaborative Leadership Award. And in honor of their significant contributions to our community and the leadership they have demonstrated throughout their careers, we will honor Jack Connors and Mayor Thomas Menino with the
Centennial Award. All have played key roles in our past, and continue to guide our future.
Finally, on an evening dedicated to leadership, we will hear from one of the greatest military leaders and statesmen in our nation's history - General Colin Powell.
The Centennial Celebration will he held on May 19 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center at 5:00 p.m. We hope you will join us for this remarkable evening.
