Chamber Announces Winners of 2009 Pinnacle Awards

Eight Women to be Honored for Achievements in Business and Management at January 29th Luncheon 

 

Boston, Mass. (December 9, 2008) – The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce today announced the winners of its 2009 Pinnacle Awards.  Honoring the accomplishments of eight women in Greater Boston who have achieved excellence in business and management, the Pinnacle Awards will take place on January 29, at the Westin Copley Place Boston. The awards luncheon will feature Heather Unruh, anchor at WCVB-TV, as the master of ceremonies.

 

This year’s honorees will be recognized for their accomplishments in the following categories:

 

  • Lifetime Achievement: Myra Kraft, President, New England Patriots Charitable Foundation;

 

  • Achievement in Entrepreneurship: Andrea Cohen, Co-Founder & CEO, HouseWorks;

 

  • Achievement in Management, Private Sector:  Julie Kahn, Vice President/New England Market Manager, Entercom New England;

 

  • Achievement in Management, Government: Luisa Paiewonsky, Commissioner, Massachusetts Highway Department;

 

  • Achievement in Management, Non-Profit: Mimi La Camera, President, The Freedom Trail Foundation;

 

  • Achievement in the Professions: Diane Patrick, Partner, Ropes & Gray LLP;

 

  • Excellence in Arts & Education: Linda Edmonds Turner, Ph.D., President, Urban College of Boston; and

 

  • Emerging Executive: Susan Esper, Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP.

 

“This year’s honorees exemplify excellence in their respective fields and their commitment to the region’s civic community is nothing short of remarkable,” said Paul Guzzi, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber.  “Each recipient is an inspiration to women aspiring to lead in business, government, academia, and media, and the Chamber looks forward to honoring them in January.”
