PG: What is the
coolest part of your job?
RW: Everyday I have
the opportunity to meet with high level
executives (CEO's, CFO's, Treasurers, and Risk
Managers) from companies that I read about in
the Wall Street Journal.
PG: If you were
recruiting someone to work for you, what would
be your number one selling point about the
company you work for?
RW: AIG is a
powerhouse Financial Services company with $1
Trillion in Assets and the most professional and
talented people in the business. We are the
largest insurance company in the World.
PG: What is your
favorite thing about working in Boston?
RW: I grew up here
(Hyannis), so my favorite thing about working in
Boston is being home. The connections that I
have established throughout my life are all
still in play. Boston is more of a big town than
a city.
PG: Favorite place to
take a client for lunch?
RW: Mr. Dooley's.
PG: If you could have
any job in Boston, other than your own, what
would it be and why?
RW: Boston Harbor
Master. I love being on the Ocean, and I would
love it even more if I could get paid for it.
PG: Where do you see
yourself in 10 years?
RW: Running the Boston
Office of AIG.
PG: Favorite place to
relax after a long week?
RW: Kalmus Beach in
Hyannis on a sunny and windy day. I am a
windsurfer, and Kalmus is one of the best
windsurfing spots on the East Coast.
PG: What's the best
piece of career advice you have ever received?
RW: Meet 3 new people
at every function you attend.
PG: Best place for an
after work drink?
RW: Mr. Dooley's.
PG: Who do you admire
in the business world?
RW: Peter Lynch.
PG: How can young
professionals expand their networks and increase
their impact in Boston?
RW: Attend every event
that your company is involved in. Get involved
with area networking groups (like the Greater
Boston Chamber of Commerce). Attend events just
to meet people. Put yourself out there.
PG: What reading
material is on your nightstand?
RW: Striper Surf by
Frank Daignault.
PG: Tell us something
we should know about you.
RW: Every January my
Brother (John), some good friends, and I travel
out to Minneapolis to play in the US Pond Hockey
Championships. ____________________________________________________
